The only way to get a metal Platinum S元 is to buy the 15". The Platinum color *IS* one of the Alcantara models in the 13" size. Maybe this thread can serve as a warning to others but suffice to say, I'm pretty disappointed right now. So, I have to return this, I can't go forward having just spent over $1000 on a pink laptop! Is the "Platinum" version actually a "Macbook" aluminum or more like a driftwood grey? My trust in the pictures on Microsoft's website are now kind of out the window and I need to figure out how to return this thing. No, this is not what I wanted or expected! Why are the pictures of Sandstone on Microsoft's website look so much closer to an off-tan or almost grey? It's not a bright, vibrant bubblegum pink and it's not pink like this special "Blush" casing for the Surface Laptop 2 but it's definitely a "for girls" pink. I hear "Sandstone" and I think a kinda mix between grey and brown, closer to tan, almost orange but not quite there. Black will show dust really easy an any scratch will be super noticeable, Platinum is too Macbook aluminum. I ordered the Surface Laptop 3 on Saturday thinking, "either of the Alcantara cases will stain and I don't wanna wash my hands every time I use the machine, so I'll go with a metal case.
